Back saw
Took a dovetail class at Woodcraft. Rob Cosman wants $295 for his saw.
Saw a kit on Ebay, I thought I can do that.
I bought an inexpensive gents saw and downloaded a pattern for a tote.
Wood from my neighbor's piano. Changed the pattern to an open tote.
Cut it out on the bandsaw.
Rough shaping with rasp.
Cut a slot for the blade, and carved a mortise for the brass back.
Practice nut.
Practice split nut. Made from brass wing nut
I used the center out of a foreign coin.
Brazed it onto a brass bolt.
Finished
What ever the wood is that I used, it is soft. It has split on me twice. I've repaired it, but i have to be gentle with it.
